In addition to general medical consultations, we run a range of specialist clinics and services for our patients. The services we provide are listed here.
Contraception/Family Planning
We offer a range of contraception services at the practice. This includes the pill, the mini-pill, hormonal injections, implants and coils. If you need to decide which method is best for you please book an appointment.
Emergency Contraception
We are able to prescribe the ‘morning after pill’ within 72 hours of the incident occurring. You will need to book an appointment within this time.
Wound Dressing
Our nurses are able to attend to various wounds and apply or replace dressings as required, including post-operative wounds. They are also able to do compression therapy dressings.
Our practice nurses can also remove stitches.
Blood Pressure
We have a blood pressure machine available for our patients in our main waiting area. Our doctors and nurses will also take your blood pressure, if necessary, during a consultation.
Asthma Clinics
Asthmatic patients are offered an annual review to assess control and medication. Patients often find Asthma UK a useful source of information.
Childhood Immunisations
We offer all routine vaccinations with the practice nurse. Please visit the NHS choices website for full details of the immunisation schedule. We encourage all children registered with us, complete full courses of immunisations against preventable diseases.
Diabetes Clinic
Diabetes is often picked up only on routine testing. Patients with Type 2 Diabetes are offered regular checks including blood tests, foot checks, dietary advice and we also hold digital retinal screening for eye checks. Please read more about diabetes checks at NHS Choices website.
Minor Surgery
Dr Green holds a Minor Surgery session every Tuesday afternoon.
Smoking Cessation
This service is run by our Practice Nurses. Leaflets are available in our main waiting area. If you need further information or advise please book an appointment with one of our nurses.
Travel Vaccinations & Non-NHS Services
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to make an appointment with a nurse. This initial appointment must be at least 6 weeks before you travel.
Before attending your first appointment, please complete this Travel Questionnaire and submit it.
The NHS does not pay for all of the services we provide, so patients may be required to pay for some of these services. Please see attached list .
Our fees are in line with BMA approved national guidelines.
Immunisations
Our practice nurses are able to offer a range of vaccinations for our patients including seasonal flu, pneumonia and shingles.
INR Monitoring
We offer weekly appointments for INR checks for those patients on Warfarin medication.
Ear Syringing
Please make an appointment with our practice nurse to have an ear check in the first instance. If needed, the nurse will then refer our patients onto the Audiology clinic run by IDC. These clinics are booked by appointment only and held at the practice.
Health Care Checks
We offer NHS health care checks which are carried out by our nurses. if you qualify for a health check we will contact you. Please see the NHS Choices website for more details.
HRT Checks
We offer a variety of HRT medication and advise with our doctors and practice nurses.
ECGs
As and when the medical need presents we can perform ECGs for our patients at the practice.
Weight Management and Dietary Advice
Appointments are available with our practice nurse. They will advise you on how to maintain/achieve your healthy weight
Cervical Smears
Available by appointment with our practice nurses. A recall system is in place so you will be contacted by letter when your next test is due. You will be called every 3 years from the age of 25 – 49. Then every 5 years until the age of 65.
Breast Screening
Women aged between 50 and 65 are automatically invited for breast screening every three years.
Blood Tests
Our HCA and Phlebotomist can do blood tests in-house Monday – Friday. Blood tests have to be performed in the morning. These are performed upon request by a doctor.
Well Men/Women Checks
Booked with our practice nurses – check up includes bloods if required then the appointment needs to be in the morning. A urine test, blood pressure and weight.
Maternity Services
Please use the Midwife/Antenatal form to self refer and book your initial midwife appointment.
Health Visitor Clinics
Health Visitor clinics are no longer based at the practice – if you would like to get in touch with the Alcester Health Visiting Team please phone 01926 567098 for clinics held in Henley-in-arden, Alcester or Studley.
AAA Screening
AAA screening is available for gentlemen aged over 65 years. Patients can self refer for this free service.

We also offer services/accommodation above and beyond our NHS contract, to benefit our patients. As a practice, we absorb these additional costs for:-
INR clinics – weekly clinics booked with the nurse.
Minor Operations – weekly clinic booked through Reception.
Medipacks – twice weekly delivery service arranged through Dispensary.
Home delivery service – twice weekly via Dispensary.
IAPT – appointment only via GP referral – available in-house at the practice.
Digital Retinopathy – booked for diabetic patients via GP/nurse appointment saving our patients travelling to hospital.
AAA screening – Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening – available for men aged 65 and over – details at Reception for patients to contact and book an appointment – held in-house at the practice.
Industrial Diagnostics Company (IDC) offer wax removal via Microsuction, Hearing Tests (Audiology) and a Hearing Aid Service at the practice.
Patients aged 55 and over will need to book an appointment with the Practice Nurse who can then refer to IDC, if needed. The appointments for IDC are held at the practice.
