Dispensing Practice

If you require your medication on a monthly ‘repeat’ basis, we will issue you with a request form for the following month. You can then order your medication – we require a minimum of 48 working hours from receiving your request to process your medication.

You can request your medication over the telephone on 01564 742274 any time between 9.30am and 6.30pm.

Other options available to our patients are:

Online via our website (online services).  You will need to register first – please ask at Reception for information.

Request via fax – clearly state your name, address and items you wish to order. Fax to 01564 742959.

In person – mark the items you wish to order and either hand in at Reception or put in the repeat box in the porch. If we are closed, put in the letter box.

If you have any changes in your medication, or develop any allergies, please let us know as soon as possible.

As a practice we decided to set up and pay for a delivery service. This service is being offered to our patients who are over the age of 60, are housebound or very elderly and are a dispensing patient. You will have to sign for your prescriptions and check the medication is correct therefore you will have to be at home at the time of delivery. If you are interested in our delivery service please enquire at Reception or phone and ask to speak to one of our dispensers.

If you have problems with remembering to take your medication we also offer a free weekly medipacks delivery service.  Please ask at Reception to speak to a dispenser.

Dispensing Review of Use of Medication

As a practice we are offering our patients an additional service to review the use of their current medication. The review will cover the following areas:-

Do you understand the purpose of each of your medications?

Are you able to take your medication as directed on the labels?

Are your medicines effective in controlling your symptoms?

Have you experienced any side effects which may be attributed to your medication?

Do you have any problems which, if addressed, would assist you in taking your medication?

Have you stopped taking any medications and can these be removed from your repeat list?

If you are interested, please ask to book an appointment with Denise.

This service is additional to the doctor’s ongoing medication reviews.

Controlled Medication

Due to the nature of the medication a doctor must be available at the practice to sign for and check all controlled medication, before releasing to a patient. Therefore you will need to check that a doctor is going to be on site and available BEFORE you arrive at Reception. If you arrive without checking – on occasions a doctor might be free, but this can never be guaranteed. You may have to wait or be asked to return to the practice later in the day.
