Practice Delivery Service

We have a free delivery service being offered to our patients who are over the age of 60, are housebound or very elderly and are a dispensing patient. You will have to sign for your prescriptions and check the medication is correct therefore you will have to be at home at the time of delivery. If you are interested in our delivery service please enquire at Reception or phone and ask to speak to one of our dispensers.

If you have problems with remembering to take your medication we also offer a free weekly medipacks delivery service. Please ask at Reception to speak to a dispenser.

What is Dispensing Review of Use of Medication

As a practice we are offering our patients an additional service to review the use of their current medication. The review will cover the following areas:-

  • Do you understand the purpose of each of your medications?
  • Are you able to take your medication as directed on the labels?
  • Are your medicines effective in controlling your symptoms?
  • Have you experienced any side effects which may be attributed to your medication?
  • Do you have any problems which, if addressed, would assist you in taking your medication?
  • Have you stopped taking any medications and can these be removed from your repeat list?

If you are interested, please ask to book an appointment with Bhavna.

This service is additional to the doctor’s ongoing medication reviews.

Controlled Medication

Due to the nature of the medication a doctor must be available at the practice to sign for and check all controlled medication, before releasing to a patient. Therefore you will need to check that a doctor is going to be on site and available BEFORE you arrive at Reception.

If you arrive without checking – on occasions a doctor might be free, but this can never be guaranteed. You may have to wait or be asked to return to the practice later in the day.

Do I need to register every time I request a prescription?

No, this only needs to be done the first time that you use the service. When collecting login details please bring a form of ID with you

Why can I not see all my medications on the repeat prescription list?

The doctor who prescribed your medication will decide whether it will be listed as a repeat medication on your records. This is a safety issue to ensure you are reviewed appropriately before any further medication is prescribed for you. If it is appropriate for you to order further prescriptions of the medication online it will be available for you to see and order when you login.
